Unipay Loans
Unipay Loans is a finance startup on a mission to make borrowing more accessible for students, visa holders, and casually employed Australians. With fast approvals, fair terms and a highly inclusive model, Unipay challenges the outdated norms of traditional lending – giving real people access to funds without the judgement, delays or complexity they’ve come to expect from the finance world.

A vibrant identity for an underserved audience
From the outset, it was clear Unipay needed a visual identity that stood apart. One that spoke directly to its younger, often excluded audience. Our job was to create a brand that looked and felt fast-moving, modern, and approachable, while subtly communicating inclusivity and flexibility.
We leaned into expressive typography, mixing styles and weights to reflect variety and individuality. A broad colour palette, including playful secondary tones, gave us room to signal energy and movement. The result? A fresh, energetic identity that feels like a genuine alternative to the rigid, one-size-fits-all lending brands.

Creating a distinct personality through custom illustration and character design
To bring a sense of character and friendliness to the brand, we introduced a custom-drawn icon – a playful coin mascot with arms and legs used as a recurring visual motif throughout the website. This direction gave Unipay a recognisable character and reinforced the idea that borrowing doesn’t have to feel cold or corporate. The illustration style extended beyond the mascot – from patterned backgrounds to interface accents. This helped us inject warmth, charm and continuity into the entire digital experience.

Designing a scalable system, not just a site
More than just a website, we built a full design system that could scale across any digital or offline touchpoint. Every component, from type and colour rules to iconography and content tone, was crafted for consistency, flexibility, and speed to market. Thanks to the team at Pink Panda, Unipay’s brand now has the tools to stay cohesive across social campaigns, email, signage, and any future product evolutions – without sacrificing its sense of energy or purpose.
