Sunday Mail Presents Westpac City-Bay is a not-for-profit organisation whose prime objective is to raise funds to support Athletics in South Australia. Each year in September, tens of thousands participate in what is one of the largest marathon events in South Australia.

Since there is such a large array of pre and post race day information that needs to be communicated, we needed to carefully plan the strategic layout and user flow of the site to aid a natural and clear customer journey.

The Execution

Pink Panda was commissioned to re-design and simplify the public-facing site for Sunday Mail Presents Westpac City-Bay to encourage registrations as well as provide useful information for participants.
This project required a lot of custom development - particularly to store and sort past race results where updating participant race times in the back end automatically adjusted the places for all other participants for that year. We also implemented interactive maps which plotted key points of interest as well as dynamic routes according to the user's race and distance selection.
