Website & iOS/Android App
Gluttony is a vibrant, popular outdoor venue hub for the Adelaide Fringe, set in the beautiful surrounds of Rymill Park in Adelaide’s East End: a festival within a festival. We worked with Gluttony to deliver an iOS and Android App as well as a brand new website and custom content management system to deliver content to all platforms.
A bespoke festival website and app with a custom performance scheduling system.
Since the previous Gluttony website had been built within a WordPress framework, the first step was to create a centralised and dynamic content management system which the iOS/Android App and website could utilise to retrieve page and shows data.
Gluttony approached us to create a new online presence for their festival in the lead up to their 2019 event. Their primary aim was to provide their audience with a comprehensive, digital performance programme as well as inform site/app visitors of the overall festival experience. With that goal in mind, we worked carefully to provide a user experience that communicated the fun and vibrant aspect of the festival whilst it being functional and useful for users.
Since the previous Gluttony website was built within a WordPress framework, the first step was to build a more dynamic, bespoke CMS which both the App and Website could utilise to retrieve page and performance data. By building a custom back end, it meant that all platforms (Website, iOS and Android App) could filter and sort shows/performances by a range of variables, allowing the end-user, to easily source and find shows that are of interest to them.
One of the more powerful examples of this was in the main page of the app where we introduced a 'starting soon' carousel which featured shows that are about to begin along with imagery and a description about the show. This was to cater for a predicted majority of app users who are at the festival, wanting to know which shows are about to begin and what they were each about.
The App also incorporated a range of other features such as an exclusive offer/rewards system, a QR scanner, a blogging engine and the ability for the festival organisers to deliver marketing messages to those who had downloaded the App via push notifications.
